Daniel Brühl Teases His Captain America: Civil War Villain!

Amy Adams hints at her favorite scene in Batman v Superman. The Power Rangers film has its Red Ranger. Chris Carter discusses how Mulder and Scully’s son factors into the X-Files revival. Plus, Rufus Hound has a surprising goal for his Doctor Who character, and a familiar face returns to Twin Peaks. Spoilers Get!

Captain America: Civil War

Daniel Brühl has revealed that his interpretation of the comics villain Baron Zemo won’t feature the character’s iconic purple mask in any capacity:

He does not wear the mask. You would be surprised, it’s different than what you’d think—It’s loosely connected to this character. But that’s what I like about the Marvel guys, some of the characters and things they’re dealing with always reference to current events so my character is from a different area than you would think.

Batman v Superman

Amy Adams teases a favorite encounter between Lois, Batman, and Superman:

I can’t give too much away, but I’m coming into a scene and Batman and Superman are both in the scene, so I can say that. And it was just fun. Because they had been working together for a couple weeks and just running it, seeing this dynamic. I’ll talk about this when we’re promoting the movie and we can tell more. But there were definitely funny moments involving bat-suits and such.

The X-Files

Chris Carter discusses how the show deals with Mulder and Scully’s son—and whether or not the two Agents are active on social media:

He’d be a teenager now. We investigate that as well. So William is harkened to through the course of this run.

I think that they would both be technologically savvy. I have not imagined their Twitter or Instagram accounts — or Snapchat accounts, probably more likely. Those are things we’ve talked about, but it’s hard to incorporate them into the show because they aren’t necessarily visual.

Meanwhile Mitch Peleggi discusses the themes of the revival:

Are you a conspiracy theorist at heart?

Oh, yeah, absolutely. I think there’s some really bad people running this world. I mean, really bad people. It’s a feeling, just seeing the way things are transpiring in the Middle East. I worked in the Middle East. I worked for the DOD [Department of Defense] in the Middle East, I worked for contractors to the DOD, so I know what that situation’s like, and I know that human nature is not good.

It sounds like it taps into a theme of the new season.

Yeah, I think you’re right. I mean, we’re the only species that slaughters its own kind by the millions – by the millions! What does that say about us? Go online. Go to comments sections; see how people talk to each other. See how people deal with each other on a daily basis. It’s really ugly. Why can’t we just be nice to each other? It’s not in our nature. Anyway, that’s a whole thing.

The Flash

Shantel VanSanten discusses Patty and Iris’ relationship in the show:

I read some of the recent [comics] where Iris and Patty are kind of catty towards each other, and that’s not interesting. [Laughs] I’m happy that we’ve haven’t written to that!

Doctor Who

Comedian Rufus Hound, who plays Sam Swift in “The Woman Who Lived”, discusses wanting to be a companion to a female Doctor:

If the Doctor regenerates in female form then it seems straightforward to me that the companion needs to be a man - at which point Sam is available to fill that gap.

And if you’re going to have a blisteringly smart Doctor then, arguably, you could have an absolute idiot as companion. And I would definitely fit the mould.
