Love it or hate it, there’s one thing everyone can agree on when it comes to Avengers: Age of Ultron. It’s absolutely packed. Packed full of plot, heroes, villains and that style is perfectly fitted to artist Tyler Stout.
Stout, who is best known for his long standing work at Mondo, has just completed a poster for Avengers: Age of Ultron which will be available Thursday through the Hero Complex Gallery. Here are the regular (edition of 750, cost $60) and variant (edition of 250, cost $110) editions.
Both posters will be on sale between 9 and 11 a.m. PST October 1 at this link.
Stout, who has also done posters for Iron Man 2, Captain America: The First Avengers, The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, stepped away from the poster world for a bit but, as a massive, massive fan of his kitchen sink style, it’s great to see him back.
While we’re talking about the Avengers, I have an confession. I liked Avengers: Age of Ultron the first time I saw it and still do to a degree. There’s just something about seeing all those characters, basically doing anything, that’s exciting. Since then though I haven’t had much of a desire to revisit it and I bet I’m not alone.
Why? Because the movie has issues, and the team at Screen Junkies uses those to hilarious effect in their latest Honest Trailer for Avengers: Age Roughly One Week of Ultron.
The beauty of these trailers is they always come out tied to the home video release so the Junkies have plenty of time to dissect these movies to their core. And dissect this one they do, by linking it to Phase Three, back to the first Avengers, and mega-cutting all the “quips.” That’s just the beginning too. The Joss Whedon bit was actually kind of sad and I totally agree with them about the Vision.
Basically, Avengers: Age of Ultron is one of those movies you forgive for its ambition, but still wish was better.
