This Week's TV: Say Goodbye to Under the Dome and Hello to Z Nation!

What’s on this week? Season premieres of Continuum, Z Nation, Gravity Falls and From Dusk Till Dawn! The series finale of Under the Dome – and possibly Extant, too, I don’t know, it remains to be seen. All this, and more cartoons than our black hearts deserve on TV this week!

Tonight:

Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales - Mission to Mos Eisley (8PM, DISNEY XD)

If the clip’s slightly different version of the scene where Luke meets Threepio and R2 doesn’t make you want to watch, nothing will.

“C-3PO recounts his exciting adventure with the “Star Wars Rebels” crew and the events of “A New Hope” in his efforts to find R2-D2, who has been kidnapped by a mysterious figure.”

Gravity Falls (8:30PM, DISNEY XD)

After some false starts, this week’s episode is officially “The Season Premiere of Gravity Falls.

“A new threat leads Mabel to venture into the enchanted realm of the unicorns. Meanwhile, Dipper learns an unexpected twist about the enigmatic Bill Cipher.”

Tuesday:

Face Off (9PM, SYFY)

“The artists must turn male models into famous Shakespearean characters.”

Contestant: “So, my idea is that King L.E.A.R. – the liquid-enhanced assassin robot — is a recently reactivated android that cries actual tears of molten lead.”

Michael Westmore: “You want to be careful of these ridges…”

From Dusk Till Dawn (9PM, El Rey)

Season premiere, and we’re officially far away from the the movie’s plot now.

Zoo (9PM, CBS)

Two back-to-back episodes!

“When Jackson is injured after a run-in with the rebels in Zambia, the team rushes him to a hospital in Zimbabwe and finds it overrun by wild animals. While Jackson undergoes emergency surgery, Mitch and Jamie work to formulate a cure using the Mother Cell and leopard DNA. Victory is within reach until a shocking turn of events jeopardizes everything, on a special two-hour episode of ZOO.”

Wednesday:

Extant (9PM, CBS):

The two-hour season finale!

Ghost Hunters (9PM, SYFY)

Thursday:

Steven Universe (5:30PM, CARTOON)

Steven Universe returns with an episode called “Nightmare Hospital.”

And take a look at this extended theme song:

Teen Titans Go (6PM, CARTOON)

“You think you can take down social boundaries!?” The Titans infiltrate a high school to combat social labels in, “Hey You, Don’t Neglect Me in Your Memory.”

Dominion (10PM, SYFY)

Bullets flying in a nuclear facility? Dominion takes a trip to Tromaville!

Under the Dome (10PM, CBS)

Series finale! Goodbye, Ms. Shumway. Is this what is sounds like when domes cry?

Geeks Who Drink (11PM, SYFY)

The one we’ve all been waiting for: Harold “Waaaalt!” Perrineau vs. Zachary “Life on a Stick” Knighton!

Friday:

Z Nation (10PM, SYFY)

America’s third-or-fourth (fifth?) favorite zombie drama returns!

Continuum (11PM, SYFY)

Season four premieres in the ghoulish 11:00PM time slot! It’s the end of days for Contiuum

Saturday:

My Little Pony (11:30AM, DISCOVERY FAMILY)

“Rarity’s dream of owning a boutique in Canterlot has finally come true. Her new shop is an instant success, but it comes at a price Rarity isn’t sure she’s willing to pay.”

It’s friendship—the price is friendship.

Power Rangers (12PM, NICKELODEON)

The Gold Ranger makes his debut, in “Break Out!”

Henry Danger (8PM, NICKELODEON)

Season premiere! Give it a shot. It has this mordant wit and a kid who does the most intense pratfalls on television.

Svengoolie (10PM, METV)

Svengoolie presents Monster on Campus, in which irradiated coelacanth blood turns Professor Donald Blake (!) into a murderous Neanderthal.

Sunday:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (11AM, NICKELODEON)

“The Turtles are baited by an unknown enemy into deadly traps!”

This show is actually going to start wheeling out characters from the Archie comics series and even Lord Dregg from the final two seasons of the original series. We’re in a weird cultural epoch, aren’t we?

Fear the Walking Dead (9PM, AMC)

The Strain (10PM, FX)

Frog-tongued vampires.

Rick & Morty (11:30PM, CARTOON)

Rick & Morty returns after a week of absence!
