The latest feed from the New Horizons mission is here, allowing us all a view of what it’s like to fly over the largest of Pluto’s five moons, Charon. And it’s amazing.
So amazing, in fact, that it’s hard to believe the video footage is real. But according to this tweet by Discover Magazine editor Corey Powell, it is. It’s likely cobbled together from many high-resolutions photographs, all strung to make one seamless video. But the result is incredible:
After getting to experience a sunset on Pluto (in the form of photos, of course — it’s a bit of a lengthy trip to go there and watch for yourself. And I hear it’s pretty cold too), we’re now getting to see the whole system even more up close and personal.
If we’re seeing this kind of stuff from the Pluto mission right now, just imagine what’s to come in the future. Technology is pretty fantastic.
