They are fast, faster than you could believe. Don’t turn your back. Don’t look away. And don’t. Even. Brick. Err, blink. Definitely don’t blink. Bricking is optional.
Warning: There’s minor spoilers for part of the Doctor Who section of Lego Dimensions below. If you plan on picking up the game and don’t want any surprises spoiled, turn back now!
The Weeping Angels are one of Steven Moffat’s best, scariest creations—but as they’ve shown up again and again over the years since “Blink” scared the living bejesus out of us in 2007, their scary nature has become blunted to the point that they barely even elicit a shudder. That is, until the Angels showed up in Lego Dimensions, a new game out this weekend that mashes together myriad Lego licenses like Scooby Doo, Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, and yes, Doctor Who

Our excellent friend Mike Fahey over at our sister site Kotaku already has his hands on the game, and while he’s rejoicing over the amazing Portal levels in it
The Lego video games have always prided themselves on a certain level of detail when it comes to the franchises they use, but this is spectacular. The flickering lights, the Angels slowly making their way towards you wherever you go in the room—even when they grab you they drain some of your life out of you, represented by the swirling clock from Doctor Who’s current opening titles. Batman even gets the famous “Don’t Blink!” line! The best moment though you can see in the gif up top, when the Angels grab you on your final bit of life. AAAAAAAAAAAH!
Although you don’t see him in the video above, the Twelfth Doctor, voiced by Peter Capaldi, does play a role in the game’s story line, and will feature even more in a Doctor Who level pack
Lego Dimensions is out this Sunday, September 27th. Want to know more? Stay tuned to Kotaku tomorrow for a full, spoiler-free review of the game.
