That New, Official Harry Potter Play Will Come In Two Parts

Were you planning a trip to London to see that new Harry Potter play? Well, things just changed a bit. Author J.K Rowling just announced on Twitter that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be released in two parts.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has a story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, and Jack Thorne. It’ll open Summer 2016 in London’s West End with Thorne writing and Tiffany directing. What it’s about? We don’t know. There are hints that it takes place early in Harry’s life however. And now, Rowling and her team have decided the story is just too big for one play.

Here’s the good news though. Unlike Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which made people wait months to see both parts, both parts of the play will be playing in tandem, so you can see one on one day and the second on another.

In fact The Daily Mail reports that “parts one and two will be performed on consecutive weekdays, while at weekends, audiences will be able to watch both parts in one day.”

Thorne did the TV show The Fades, as well as a stage play of Let The Right One In. So along with Rowling, this show is going to be incredibly high end on the West End.
