When we last left the Legends of Tomorrow, the time-traveling bounty hunter Chronos had tracked down the team yet again, forcing Rip to beat a hasty retreat in his timeship, and leave a few of his teammates behind in 1958. Last night we learned that the man behind Chronos’ mask is a bit more familiar than we expected. Spoiler!
It’s Mick Rory, a.k.a. Heatwave, who recently betrayed the team, then was seemingly taken out by his partner-in-crime Captain Cold. Turns out the Time Masters have a sense of irony, and they picked him up immediately after he was abandoned to be their eternal time enforcer. They’ve turned the hotheaded pyromaniac (no pun intended) into a merciless, stone-cold killer (okay, that time the pun was intended, especially since the main part of Mick’s remaining personality seems to be 100% devoted to hating his former partner).
By the end of the episode, Mick/Chronos is in the Waverider’s brig, and theLegends are going to try to deprogram their ex-teammate. Seeing as the pre-programmed Mick was still the jerk that betrayed them to a bunch of space pirates, I’m not sure how good an idea this is...
