Ever since The Force Awakens released, we’ve known there were several scenes trimmed from the movie—entire characters were cut, or even moments from the trailers
Entertainment Weekly has some new photos from the seven scenes that will be included on the DVD and Blu-ray release of the movie, a couple of which you can check out below:
None of the scenes seem to house any particularly big chunks of story, but serve to flesh out moments in the movie that were already included. One, for example, sees Finn struggling with his conscience during the village attack on Jakku, raising his blaster at an unarmed villager in the shadows. Another extends Poe and his fellow pilot’s moment of plotting their hyperspace journey to Starkiller Base in the film’s climax.
But there’s definitely a few intriguing moments in them, like one which would’ve introduced General Organa into the movie much earlier than she eventually appeared, coordinating an attempt to rescue Poe after the village attack. Or the most intriguing of all: Kylo Ren boarding the crashed Millennium Falcon, and reminiscing about his former family and the conflict within him. Interesting stuff!
