One of These Dudes Is Young Han Solo (Probably)

Disney and Lucasfilm have apparently whittled the list of actors who could star in the Han Solo origin movie down from every young man in Hollywood to just three people: Taron Egerton, Jack Reynor, and Alden Ehrenreich.

According to a report from THR, Disney is now in the final stages of casting the man to fill the Corellian trousers of Han Solo, following a round of screentesting in London. The above trio was apparently cut from a list of 10 that included Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, and Emory Cohen. But that’s not all—on Twitter, Variety’s Justin Kroll corroborated the shortlist, but added an extra two names under consideration: Glee’s Blake Jenner and Unbroken’s Jack O’Connell.

It’s perhaps not too surprising that we’re already hearing about a final list for the young Solo. There have been recent rumors that Han might make a cameo appearance in Star Wars: Rogue One later this year, but those rumors might be in doubt if they’re still casting, especially since Rogue One has wrapped on principal photography at this point. Maybe one of these guys might show up for reshoots down the line? If so, we might know the official star of the Han Solo origin movie sooner than anticipated.
