And when I say “tiny,” I mean it. “Typha” follows a young woman from a literally miniature society as she is chosen by her village to perform a ritual that keeps them alive. Along the way she dodges rats and, more terrifyingly, a garden gnome.
Something about the style of “Typha” reminds me of the drawings in children’s books. The colors and the bold lines, I guess. Like its titular star, “Typha” is very short, but also just right.
