If it didn’t mean we’d miss amazing films like Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Her, Spike Jonze could have a great career in late night. Earlier this week, the director helmed directed a surreal new opening to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, which you should watch here.
Simply titled A Short Film By Spike Jonze, it’s a wonderful little rumination on loneliness in New York City which mixed both man and Muppet. Soon, Jonze’s realism becomes fantasy when when Sesame Street star Grover shows up to help Colbert find his way in the world. It’s a short, fun watch by one of our best filmmakers.
