The newest trailer for the follow-up to Snow White and the Huntsman is here. It takes place before the 2012 film, but it might be most notable because it’s seems almost exactly like a live-action version of Disney’s Frozen.
Seriously! There are two sisters, this time played by Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt. One has a traumatic experience, realizes she has the power of ice, goes away and builds her own ice castle. She then sings Let it Go and we all cry and cheer— wait, no. Everything except that last bit.
Directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, The Huntsman: Winter’s War opens April 22. We really want to chuckle at it but the cast, lead by Theron, Blunt, but also with Chris Hemsworth, Jessica Chastain and Sam Claflin, is really solid. The trailer has a mostly cheesy, fantasy feel but so did the last film, and audiences seemed to like that one. Maybe this movie will surprise. One thing is for certain, though—we shouldn’t underestimate anything that has even a tangential connection to Frozen.
