Cosplay events are the most photographed parts of fan conventions, because it is so easy to get lost in the noisy whirl of highly detailed costumes and stunning make up. But what about their eyes and expressions?
Here are 21 portraits of cosplayers from the 2015 Hungarocon (the 35th science-fiction gathering of Hungary) held on the last Saturday in Budapest, as seen from a bit different point of view: I tried to focus not on the costume but on the wearer, showing through their eyes that there is a unique individual person behind every extraordinary fictional character.
